The AutoEthnographer to Be Indexed by The Library of Congress

ISSN from the Library of Congress

The United States Library of Congress has selected The AutoEthnographer for inclusion in their collections!

In June of 2022, The AutoEthnographer applied for an International Standard Serial Number, or ISSN. Congratulations!

Just a few days ago, much to our surprise, we received the following email directly from the United States Library of Congress:

To Whom It May Concern:

We have selected your publication https://theautoethnographer.com/ for inclusion in the Library’s collection. We believe this publication is an important and valuable addition to our collections and to the historical record.

The LOC preserves cultural artifacts and provides enduring access to them in order to serve the needs of Congress and to support education and the creation of new scholarship. The Library’s traditional functions of acquiring, cataloging, preserving, and serving collection materials of historical importance extend to digital materials. For more information about the Library of Congress’s digital collections, please visit our website (http://www.loc.gov/collections/).

The Library of Congress or its agent will engage in the collection of this publication, and potentially other publications from your website, at regular intervals over time and may include them in future collections. We will make such content available to individuals at Library facilities and by special arrangement. The Library may also make this content available more broadly by hosting it on the Library’s public access website no earlier than one year after our archiving has been completed.

The Library hopes that you share its vision of preserving digital publications and permitting researchers from across the world to access them. If you have questions, comments or recommendations concerning the acquisition of your digital publication, please e-mail the Library’s Web Archiving Team at webcapture@loc.gov at your earliest convenience.

Thank You.
